Meet Team Member Jackie

This week we want you to meet team member Jackie Mallett.  Jackie has been with us from the beginning and she keeps our office running.  You may have had the chance to talk to Jackie on the phone with your essential oil questions or been lucky to have received a package signed with Jackie's signature phrase "Packaged with care by Jackie.  May your wildest dreams come true!" Jackie loves to write and brings witty dialogue to our team meetings.  Meet Jackie Mallett.

What is your favorite Jade Bloom product, and why?

My favorite Jade Bloom products would have to be our toothpaste and our Ylang Ylang essential oil. The toothpaste has dramatically improved my oral health and whitened my teeth more than any other whitening product I’ve used in the past. Ylang Ylang essential oil is so versatile and helps me immensely in my day to day life; as a hair mask and a natural anxiety remedy when I diffuse it throughout the day.

What do you do in your spare time? What do you wish you could do in your spare time?

I love to play guitar and amateurishly play at a local open mic when the opportunity presents itself.  I am a voracious reader, an avid Redditor, and a very dedicated Aunt. I adore my nieces and nephews and make a point to spend as much time as possible with them in my free time. I wish I could spend more time with family that lives out of state and wish I dedicated more of my time to writing; prose as well as songs.

Tell us your best joke.

My best CLEAN joke?

I used to be addicted to soap. But I’m clean now.

*crickets*

Did you hear about the scarecrow who won the Nobel Prize?

He was outstanding in his field.

...I’ll show myself out.

Complete this sentence: “There are two types of people in this world; there are people who___ and there are people who___.”

There are those who seek truth and those who seek comfort.

Why are natural products important to you?

Natural products are important to me due to my personal experience with medications being sought out too quickly, without first implementing natural remedies. Sound science and accurate education regarding natural remedies is important to me due to all of the misinformation out there ultimately being harmful to the public. It is possible to help the body heal itself, and this method is far superior (in my personal opinion) to imploring the body to heal itself with medicinal outside intervention.

If you could brunch with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be? And what would be on the menu?

Mirah -- At approximately 2:33 PM, we'd consume copious amounts of Earl Grey Tea with Cashew Milk, and Vegan Coconut Pancakes from The Blue Plate.

Favorite quote from your favorite movie. GO!

Just ONE movie?! Impossible.
“The universe is an infinite sphere whose center is everywhere and whose circumference is nowhere.”
-I Heart Huckabees

“Well, that’s just like...your opinion, man.”

-The Big Lebowski

What is something you’re exceptional at? What is something you’re dreadful at?

I had a very difficult time answering this question, mainly because the way others perceive you tends to be more accurate than the way you perceive yourself. Here’s what someone said who knows me better than I know myself:

“You have the most enormous heart, the biggest one of everyone I have ever met. This allows you to do so much for others, sometimes things they themselves aren’t aware they are in need of. You’re highly intuitive, and that paired with your unending selflessness makes it easy for people to gravitate towards you, feel comfortable, trust you, and be completely open. You just naturally know what someone needs and don’t just sit on the information, you act on it. You genuinely care for those around you and it’s magnetic. On the flipside though, you don’t know how to throttle that aspect of your personality. You give so freely, and with no expectation for reciprocity that you forget that you also need recovery time from giving so openly. You need to understand when to stop giving and focus on yourself, understanding that doing this is not a selfish action, because it will allow you to continue being that amazing source of comfort for those who care for you and appreciate your efforts. Oh, and you’re a dreadful dancer.”

My spirit animal is___

Rory Gilmore, character flaws and all.

Alternatively, but in the same vein, Dorothy Parker, who once said, “Four be the things I'd have been better without: love, curiosity, freckles and doubt.”

“I hate writing; I love having written.”

“There's a hell of a distance between wise-cracking and wit. Wit has truth in it; wise-cracking is simply calisthenics with words.”

And lastly, Jenny Lewis, for without her, I wouldn’t be here today.
